| | | Speckled bush crickets? Hello
I saw the first cricket in my garden a couple of evenings ago (chuffed to bits didn't know I had them! ) tried taking a photo (pic 1) but wasn't happy with the result so went out next evening and there was this cricket sat in the same place (pics 2 & 3), but it was fatter and less markings!! Is it the same one after a good meal or a totally different animal just co-incidentally sat on same leaf?!!
Many thanks

Jane | Oh forgot to say that yoou're spot on with the speckled bush cricket! Nice little animals, always look a bit bewildered. The male 'sings' by rubbing his stubby wings together but the sound can't be heard by the naked human ear but is audible through a bat detector.

| | | Re: Speckled bush crickets? Thanks I had a trawl through the Gallery the first day cos I hadn't a clue what it was, I agree with the "bewildered" look, they sat quite patient but with that "what on earth are you doing?" look!
