| | | Any idea what these are please? I was taking pics in a patch of stuff (don't know the exact name, but someone might) in the middle of our lawn yesterday and found these. Can anyone ID them?
Could this one be Agriphila geniculea?

This fly (is it a horsefly?) is having hoverfly for lunch:
Finally, is this one Lygus maritimus?
Thank you.

| | | Re: Any idea what these are please? Agriphila geniculea does have those markings, it is variable and I would agree.
The fly with syrphid lunch is Asilidae (Robberfly) Tolmerus atricapillus which is now given the preferred genus name by some of Machimus.
The bug is a tricky one, on gist I would say Lygus cf. pratensis. It would be better to see the full dorsal view, the angle is maybe showing the pronotum to be wider than it is. Awaiting more expert views!
Your other pic isn't enlarging as the url is tangled with it.

Thank you for your response. I will try and find a better pic of last bug in order for you to see the pronotum.
Here is another link for the photo which cannot be viewed (strange how it got mixed in with address lol).
Hope it works this time.
Is this pic better:
