| | | Dragon and damsel ID please Hi
I'm very new to this, but hope my guesses aren't TOO off-beam! I think the first 2 are Common Darters and the third is an Emerald damselfly. No idea whether male or female .
Thanks,

| | | Re: Dragon and damsel ID please The first is a female Ruddy Darter, as they get older they can start to get some red colouration like the males, as yours has.
The third is one of the Emerald Damselflies (a male), where abouts was the picture taken? It looks quite bulky to me, which could suggest it's a Scarce Emerald Damselfly, but as the name suggests they're very local in the UK! If you have any more photos of this one from different angles they may be helpful.

| | | Re: Dragon and damsel ID please Thanks very much Guy. Wow, Ruddy sounds much more exciting than Common! (Told you I'm new to this!)
I don't have pics of the damselfly from other angles unfortunately. It was in Hadleigh country park in Essex.

| | | Re: Dragon and damsel ID please Think the chances of the Emerald Damselfly being a scarce emerald are high as this is found here for sure. I think I can see front half of S2 powder blue. 99% sure, Scarce Emerald- male.

| | | Re: Dragon and damsel ID please Thank you! Gosh! It's rather ironic that this should be one of my first 'ticks' - I haven't even seen an ordinary Emerald yet!!
