What's this Egg Head? ID please!
I'm not sure what this is - it was very small (laround 7mm excluding the 'tails') and sort of looks like a mayfly wearing an old crash helmet .
It appears it will be 'food' soon as I think that's an egg laid on its head? Every time I go out with my macro I find something fascinating!

It is a male mayfly, the "eggs" on its head are its eyes.

Well I never - so it is and so they are!! They have 4 eyes, then - a pair of small and a pair of large now I've looked it up. No wonder I was confused. I never realised mayflies were that little! At least my guess was partly right
