| | | A Damselfly ID I took these shots this morning at a local lake. Presumably it's fresh, looking at the wings, the wings look pretty short to me as well. There were plenty of Blue-tailed, Small Red-eyed and Common Damsels about, so presumably it's one of those, but I can't find anything that matches.
The photos aren't great unfortuantely, I was stretching, and there was a distinct possibility that I was about to fall into the lake.

It's a teneral male Blue-tailed Damselfly.
If you look closely you can just about make out the pattern that it will have when mature (including the pale S8, which will become the blue tail spot).
The pale post occular spots that are visible on the head, behind the eyes, rule out Small (or Large) Red-eyed.
