Hover fly?
Hello is this a hover fly? I haven't seen the enlarged legs on any other I've seen?

This is the hoverfly Syritta pipiens, you can actually see the hind femora are much wider than the tibia in this picture, particularly on the lower hind leg.

Yes male.

There are several other species of hoverflies which have an enlarged femur, Jane, so that feature is more of a starting point than a definite ID item.
