Unidentified Flies


These three were photograohed near lakes and despite scouring my insect bookds I acnnot identify them so acn anyone please help? I suspect one might be a hover type fly, the one with the yellow head.

I can't help with the first, but you're correct with the second - it's Volucella pellucens.

The first fly is Nowickia ferox, could I have the record details for the Tachinid Recording Scheme please?
