Yes, a dark-looking Eristalis sp., possibly E. tenax.

Take care, Jason | E.tenax has two distinctive lines of hairs running down its eyes. It also has dark tarsi which can both be seen here.  |

Excellent! Thankyou both! never heard about the lines of hairs on the eyes before being diagnostic, it has been noted. Though i may forget!
