Hi!

I'm damned if I can pin this species down. I know what its not but just can't be sure what it is. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo but the beastie was rather skittish and even with my telephoto lens this is the best I could do.

This is a male Common Darter Sympetrum striolatum

It's a Common Darter, but it's actually a very mature female - they often develop some red as they age.
