I have been going through my hoverflyID images and I came across this, which I took on 26/06/10 in my garden. Unfortulately, the fly was quite distant and I couldn't get any closer so the image is quite poor. The distinctive white tipped antenae are apparent in the photo, as well as golden hairs.

Thank you Matt and oxycera. Not really near woodland, just a small urban garden in Hull. I am relatively close to a large old cemetery with quite mature trees and I keep several log piles in the garden. This is the only time I've seen this sp., as it is quite distinctive. Would it be C. aurata you think?
