Invasion of houseflies

Is anyone else getting a plague of these at the moment? We always have some during the summer, but there are loads here at the moment. I try to avoid using sprays, and we have recently bought an electric "zapper" bat. My son must have killed about 20 during the day today.

We do tend to have our doors and windows open all the time, so I guess they are coming in from outside, unless we have an undiscovered mouse corpse somewhere that they are hatching from!

It is just to weather thats favoured them this year?

We have quite a few flies in and out of the house, though I have been blaming the dogs as we don't always pick up after them the minute they 'go' . I tend to do it every other evening so that's probably what's bringing them here...
Oh, the shame!
