The RA83 form (and the spreadsheet version) are intended to collect as much information as possible. The website submission collects only the most basic information that is required for a record (with the advanced option allowing more information to be added). I can see how the original form/spreadsheet can be intimidating, and I am sure that recording schemes for other groups may have forms that seem just as difficult to 'newbies'. In all cases I can only suggest that the recorder is contacted - most will be able to suggest a format for record submission that is acceptable to them and contains at least the minimum information (additional information can then be added to future records as, and when, the observer becomes more confident). |

I think I'll make a trip soon specifically to record and see how I get on.
I'll probably do this at Cornmill Meadows - should these records come to you?

PS: Apologies to UKWildlifeo for taking this thread off track - you did mention record submission first though
Roy.

Roy. | No need, its Good off tracking Much more pleasant than the original focus of the topic!
On the subject of the less pleasant side, the chap involved has apologised (maybe because his face was plastered all over the internet ) so hopefully this wont happen again. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
