| | | slug fest
does anyone know what these slugs are doing. I guess they are exchanging gametes, but is it common to see group sex? |

| | | Re: slug fest I don't think so, this was on a paving stone, and if you look carefully at the library picture there are a variety of threads attaching them to each other at their nether ends, plus some odd orange extrusions. |

| | | Re: slug fest I'm resonably sure that the blobs on the tail end of these Arion sp. slugs are the defence plugs used to gum up the jaws of slug hunting beetles. The love darts tend to be shot out from the mantle edge. What did they do after the shot was taken ?

| | | Re: slug fest I am not sure, they had disappeared by morning. These slugs seem to congregate around the front door in the evening, especially when it is damp. What interests me is the thin filaments connecting them together. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
