Cheers. Nik. |

Cheers. Nik. | Thanks for your reply .
Sorry about the quantity but they are an accumulation of images, over the last 3 months, that I have not been able to ID.
#6 was about 4-5mm long.
Kind regards

| | | Re: Hymenoptera for ID Second one down belongs to the genus Ectemnius. These are sphecids that specialize in hunting flies and stocking their nests with them. They are impossible to identify from a photo like this and even with the specimen they can sometimes be rather tricky.

| | | Re: Hymenoptera for ID Also, 1, 3, 4 and 6 are parasitica, so putting a species to these from a photo is effectively impossible. You may want to post them on hymis, where there are a lot of specialists who may be able to give you a subfamily and possibly even a genus.
7 and 8 are sawflies, but as above, they're not easy to identify, even with a specimen.

| | | Re: Hymenoptera for ID Off the top of my head, 7 may be a Macrophya and 8 has the look of a Tenthredopsis.

| | | Re: Hymenoptera for ID Thank you all for your replies to this post . It was made rather difficult because the images are not as good as I would like them to be for ID posts . My apologies for that.

You may get lucky with one or two distinctive ones, or at least sub-family on occasion.
Take care, Jason |
