| | | Nest of Caterpillars Can anyone help with the identification of these caterpillars? The nest seems to be made of web and was found on the garage wall. Sorry about the picture quality - the smaller caterpillars (young?) are yellow and the bigger ones are greenish brown with darker heads. They were very lively when disturbed but later all returned to the nest. Can anyone help with ID?

| | | Re: Nest of Caterpillars Many thanks to those who replied. Yes, I am in Britain. I am not able to take more detailed shots with my camera unfortunately. I attach another attempt but it is not very clear. We do have considerable leaf damage to a rose bush in the garden (leaves stripped back to skeletons) so maybe sawflies? but have not actually managed to see any activity there and it is not close to the nest.
