| | | bite identification hi guys some months ago I was bitten whilst lying in the garden. I'm pretty sure it was a spider that bit me, and after lots of research I came to the conclusion it was possibly a yellow sac spider, only we are not supposed to get these in this country so do any of you have any idea? I had seen a small light brown spider at the time but hadn't realised I had been bitten.   |

| | | Re: bite identification Its very hard to say 1) you carnt see any puncture marks. 2) different people react differently to different bites. You would never get it to species by bite alone. As far as im aware Cheiracanthium punctorium does not exist in Britain. |

| | | Re: bite identification Looks like a spider bite, you can see two puncture marks. Dysdera crocata can give a very bruising bite, but as I said impossible to say really. |

As far as im aware Cheiracanthium punctorium does not exist in Britain. | its mentioned on the NHM spider bite page so i'm guessing they have had reports of it in this country - probably very rare still and possibily the reports mainly from imported stuff like veg. |
