No idea if it will help, but I've cranked up the exposure a notch, and closed in a touch. |

It's Volucella zonaria - note the varying abdominal band colouration, all-chestnut thorax and lack of a black smudge on the mid-wing as you find in inanis.
Stunning indeed - I was ' buzzed' by one - twice - yesterday, and the sound as they fly is quite incredible.
