| | | bumble bee behaviour, hi New here so hopiing I've posted in the right area, I am fortunate to have several different types of bumble bee in the garden. I have just wittnessed some very unusal behaviour in one of my small furry friends, she was lying flat on a seat cover, tapping her back feet and feeling with her antena this went on for several minutes also on occassion her front feet tapped as well.
could anyone explain what she was doing could she have been after the salt in the washing powered the company used? or was she just lost on her way to my lavender and echinops (blue round thistle type plant)
thank you in anticipation

| | | Re: bumble bee behaviour, Welcome to the forum shynet, if your bumble was nice and clean and new looking, it may have been her first day out, and she's not sure where the flowers are, she may have been hungry, or she might have been marking the spot, they mark all around where the flowers are, it could also be a new male and he will mark several places in the garden, and will do this every day, females may also find this scent and may wait for the male, well just some idea's to work on, nice you take such an interest in these lovely bumblebees.
