Dragonfly time lapse

last weekend i went fishing and as i was packing up, a dragonfly larvae came from in between the wooden slats on the peg i was on, and sat staring at me. i took a few shots and then started to leave. i looked again and it was moving very strangely, and it was then that i realised that it was 'hatching' from its larval form. the whole process took just over half an hour and i watched in awe, it was really incredible, it looked like it was hard going!

i took a load of photos as it was doing this, and at the time hadnt really thought of doing a time lapse, but i have done it now. the photos arent that good and are shot from slightly different angles so it doesn't work very well as a video but i thought i'd share it anyway!

after the process, the dragonfly was sat out in the open amidst a load of bait that i'd dropped around me, so i decided i'd move it to somewhere safe on a piece of reed to ensure it didn't get eaten by the gang of canada geese which were waiting to gobble everything up around it.

i guess its hard to tell, but does anyone know what species it might be???
