Question Fly and waspish ID?
Waspish in greenhouse a few weeks ago, plus yellowish fly on the moors this week, grateful for any help/steer!

Morning Ken,

The first is a Hoverfly - an egg-laden female Baccha elongata, though I've never seen one quite so gravid! The second is probably a Muscidae member - but a photo-based ID is possibly impossible...

Hi Jason,
thanks for that - it threw me, so gravid, bad news for the greenhouse aphids then..........
I might just give up on flies.................
But I do have two interesting waspy things from today, will post asap, but might be a few days, grandchildren coming!
