Having a bit of a change from the bees-can anyone point towards ids for these 3 insects?
1. I think this is an Ancistrocerus wasp. 
2. Wondering about a sawfly for this one. 
3. No idea about this one.

Afternoon Judith,
The first is a Crabronid or similar - Ancistrocerus spp. are known as Mason/ Potter Wasps, and the Ancistrocerus bit is the Genus - and can be very difficult/impossible to confirm in photos, especially field-based ones. Best under the microscope.
The second is an Ichneumon wasp - impossible to identify to species from a photo.
The last is a Sawfly - John Coldwell is good with these!

Thanks for the information Jason-I keep being surprised at what is turning up in the garden.
I'll try and pursue that sawfly-it would be good to know what it is going to feast on.

The wasp looks like a Sphecid, Ectemnius sp. I think.
Sawfly looks like one of the dark bodied Arge species.
