Identify a Cricket near Froxfield

Please identify a brown cricket for me. Some more chestnut colour, big - approx 40mm, on A4 chalk verge Wilts/Hants border. I've found Dark Bush Cricket but it's very much bigger.

Hi Jane and welcome to WAB!

The one at the top still looks like a female Dark Bush-cricket to me,the female is on average larger with a body length of up to 21mm plus the ovipositor length of up to 11mm comes close to that 4cm size that you have mentioned.
The lower one is a male with a body length up to 19mm and no ovipositor.

Thank you all the appendages do make it look much larger. Hoverflies, bees, butterfly queries next.

You're welcome Jane.Also the male has those dark sides which makes it look a bit like a different species to the female ,which is a much more uniform brown.
