Insect Videos Needed for Information Collective

Hello, over the last month I have tried bird watching, but as I have spent so much time outside, I have become fascinated with insects. There are just so many varied types and most people are unaware of this. There is also a popular misconception that insects are unattractive, when quite the opposite is true. Therefore, to learn myself and to help educate people, I have decided to further my interest and build an online database of insects, along with lots of relevant info, pictures and videos. I have made a start on this, but it will obviously take quite some time. I have bribed a friend of mine (with my homemade muffins!) tp help me catalogue all of the information. However, we need help with the videos. If you know of any good online videos showing insects, please can you let me know so that I can integrate it into the growing information source.

Also, any help on registering and building a website would be welcome. Although, I am sure you will tell me to just search on Google! Whenever I have asked similar questions on other forums, the familiar reply is, "Google it". :-)

I have a few poorly made insects video`s on my YouTube channel, which you can use, if there of any good to you.

I also have built a few websites in the past, which also maybe of use to you.

Thanks Action Man, that looks great, I appreciate your support. I have not been on YouTube before, however, have heard about it obviously. I will have a good look at all of your videos. Perhaps there are other such videos on YouTube too. I will do some searches to see what I can find. When I am ready to begin work on the website, I might come knocking!

I have some on schoolstube dot com - I did them for the school where I work and we couldn't access Youtube. This site vets any videos for acceptable content for children. If you search on 'minibeasts' or 'animals' you will see some with the same username as on WAB.

There is always arkive dot org which has lots of invertebrate video clips...

A couple of further suggestions... I saw the thread on the unpleasant videos on Youtube, but they do have 'channels' for individuals or organisations to show their stuff and if you Google "youtube channels for uk wildlife" quite a few show up and they may have some suitable ones. Also BBC Wildfinder has some goodies. I know a number of WAB members show their videos on Vimeo, you can also check out the 'channels' on that to see if any are what you need. THey certainly won't be nasties
