Found two of these in empty paddling pool in the garden today - please could somebody help me identify them. They seem to be staying put but not sure why? |

Welcome to WAB. They look like long horn beetles to me but someone with more experience with these should be along soon. |

Thank you - seems a silly question but are they able to fly as they are still in the paddling pool - should I move them or maybe they want to mate - if so they're not very good at finding each other!! What is their normal habitat? |

They are actually very strong flyers. I think their usual habitat is conifer woodland. Moving them shouldn't be a problem especially if there is a woodland nearby. As to why they are not moving...their could be many reasons even down to the colour of your paddling pool.
