| | | Re: dragonflies and others for ID 1. A pair of Ruddy Darters
2. Brown Hawker, looks like a ovipositing female
3. male Lesser Emperor! This is a scarce migrant species and a significant sighting, congratulations on an excellent find! It's been a good year for migrants and there have been a few of these reported. I'm sure your local dragonfly recorder would appreciate the record.
4. Common Darter
5. male Field Grasshopper
6. female Oak Bush-cricket nymph
All nice species, but that Lesser Emperor was a real surprise when I opened up the picture

The penultimate is a Field Grasshopper, I believe.
Take care, Jason |

A list of county dragonfly recorders can be found in the PDF linked from here (along with other methods of submitting records): British Dragonfly Society
Roy.
PS. I was quite surprised when I opened the image as well! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
