| | | Urgent advice needed Hi folks
I need some urgent advice. We have just been in to the lean to on the house and gone to get our dogs blanket, a swarm of nast angry wasps have just attacked my hubby (stung a few times but hes ok). Now the dogs blanket is on the decking outside next to the patio door with a wasps nest inside. We are now are trapped in the house and dont know what to do. There are wasps everywhere, they even followed hubby into the house and continued to attack him ... it was mayhem.
Ive read about finding nests in the house and in enclosed environments and being able to move them or destroy them. However can anyone offer any advice on this predicament with the nest.
Many many thanks |

| | | Re: Urgent advice needed ..You can find out your nearest pest controller on Google..It will be money well spent..Local Councils do arrange it but I don't suppose you could go that route on a Sunday.. |

| | | Re: Urgent advice needed The wasps will all go back in the blanket to sleep at night, you could lift the blanket with a spade after dark into a container and shut tight with all wasps inside, if any fly out they will go for the light, I move a lot of bumblebee nests this way, but hav'nt tried it on wasps.
You could make a wasp catcher with a plastic bottle, make a hole midway down the bottle, push a tube through about an inch and half, can be hose pipe or anything you can find, make a jam or something sweet smelling in the bottom mixed with warm water to make it more smelly, make a quick dash outside and leave where you can watch through window, to give them a good start, smear a little jam, honey, sugar, around the hole, should get rid of a good load of them, but best to get a pest controller to be safe. | | | Re: Urgent advice needed You could try a bucket of water or hose them down. They might think it's raining and go for shelter! Works with bee swarms.

| | | Re: Urgent advice needed Thanks for your replies. We found a pest controller who come out. Its a good job really because when he opened the blanket with his netting on, we realised we could not have tackled that, there were thousands of them. |
