If it was a ruddy Darter the legs would be all black and I can just about make out the creamy yellow stripe on the leg which Common Darters have and the body shape is more of a Common than a Ruddy. The Ruddy Darter has a slightly bulbous shape near the end of the body. |

EDIT I think I can see the stripes now I look more closely, so I'm going for Common now.

| | | Re: Is this a male Common Darter The legs look dark to me (the pale stripes aren't always obvious), but the abdomen shape is wrong for Ruddy Darter. It's a male Common Darter to me.
