hi... i keep on seeing a flying insect with pink wings... like deep bright pink/red wings.. it is really nice. the rest is dark black (not that black is anything but dark)(but you know what i mean).. i see it near the sea in a field.. anyone know what it might be? if not, i will catch one and scan it? or maybe a photo i guess... |

Try a moth, such as the The Cinnabar or a Burnet.

nice one jason. yeah that looks promising, altho i've checked google images and i can't really compare as the ones i see are always in flight. maybe i'll take a jar next time, take a pic and then let it go... but glad i've found insects with the right colour... they are very bright! just like you (altho ovviously you are brighter being a human not an insect). thanks for your help bro. |

Thanks! These ones often appear a very bright pink in flight. The jar idea sounds good, but you may need to keep the jar in a cool, dark place for an hour or two to take the edge off it's energy or it'll just carry on flapping! | | |
