| | | Help with bee ID please I'm small, greyish, very fast and I emit a low buzzing noise. Who am I?
Any help with ID or clues as to what to look for greatly appreciated.
Bev

| | | Re: Help with bee ID please Unfortunately these small bees are so difficult to identify even from really good photos.
But just as a guess, first consider one of the many honey bee forms; alternatively there are a lot of Lasioglossum species about, although I usually find them silent; and some of the early Colletes species will be appearing now. |

| | | Re: Help with bee ID please I think it is a summer Anthophora species, the eyes, long tongue and high-pitched buzzing noise are characteristic. The pollen baskets on the legs (its a female) also fit. Try A. quadrimaculata or A. bimaculata.
