Bee Beetle?
I photographed this beetle on the Welsh coast (right on Cardiff Bay) at the weekend. After some research (not much!) I have only found one possible - the so-called Bee Beetle, Trichius fasciatus and a rather worn-looking specimen at that!? Does anybody agree?

Yes - a Bee-beetle, a nice rarity (pats of Scotland and Wales seem to be strongholds).

Wow, I didn't realise they were an uncommon species. There again, I'd never seen one before in my life ... nothing new there, then ...
