Found in a bramble patch
The nearest I could get with the wing veination was a Graphomya sp.
Any suggestions welcomed

Is there anyway to check on the records for a particular insect by area. I noted a comment on one website I visited whilst looking up this suggestion, that this sp. is under recorded in the north of England.

I've had a look at the Tachinid Recording site, and will certainly make more use of it in the future.
I checked out Dexiosoma caninum, and indeed, the recordings for S Yorks are lacking. Therefore I will certainly see if my image is acceptable as a record.
