| | [ID] Tachinid and Bee, please! Afternoon all!
I visited a new site ( London) today, and spotted these two on a good stand of Thistles. 19/07/2010 Bumblebee ...I can't really like this to any I've seen before. 19/07/2010 Tachinidae - Gymnosoma rotundatum, Correct? Pretty unmistakable, me thinking!
Thanks for looking!
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: [ID] Tachinid and Bee, please! At the risk of being quite wrong, I think this is a male Bombus lucorum-yellow, face, white tail, two stripes on thorax and one on abdomen. But someone who really knows will be a better bet for an id.

The fly looks good to me, nice find!

| | | Re: [ID] Tachinid and Bee, please! So the first is lucorum? Wasn't really expecting that! Thanks both.
Lori, I remembered your thread the second I saw it and the fact it's uncommon so thanks! |
