Ruddy Darter?
Am I right in thinking that this is a Ruddy Darter?

Seen today in the Chelsea Physic Garden, London

Impossible to be sure from that photo. The top of the thorax is rather orange like a typical Ruddy Darter but both this and the Common Darter can be quite variable.

A clear view of the legs would help.

But maybe one of the experts in this family will be prepared to say definitely.

Clubtail abdomen and reddish face looks likely Ruddy Darter to me......
