Scaeva pyrastri?
Seen Creech Woods, Denmead

I believe this is Scaeva pyrastri. Can anyone please confirm?

Looks like it to me Peter; the white spots are the right shape. They are quite a chunky species seen in the field.

They appear to be having a good year; although it is always something of a 'boom or bust' species.
