ID - Lucilia sericata (common green bottle)?

Is this a common green bottle?


I have lots of other photos if there's anything important not visible or clear in those photos. I did look at the Wikipedia article, but I don't know enough about insect anatomy to understand what I should be looking at.

Afternoon Dave,

Well, John's your man for any advice on these. Personally I have no idea what quantifies sericata - there are generally 35 GBs in the UK, but on the 'Net you only really hear about three of these (remember some are incorrectly named too!) - this could easily be one of the remaining 32.

It may be a genital/bristle-placement job. I overlook these now when out in the field, and when I feel ready to start with them I'll look to collecting instead. Unfortunately photos don't always include the points you need (though sometimes you may strike lucky! ).

Certainly good shots though!

Yes, tricky genus, microscope jobs in my opinion.
