Scale Insect Query

I found an infestation of scale insects on a potted bird's-nest fern today. I took a few photos and when I looked on the screen I noticed a tiny creature sitting on one of the scales, would this be a juvenile scale?

By the way I am assuming that this is the Soft Scale (Coccus hesperidum) would I be right?

Being a bit tentative here - I would think the answer is probably yes to both questions! There are quite a lot of similar-looking scales, I think but C. hesperidum is most common on pot plants in UK (especially, but not exclusively, citrus) - I don't recall seeing it, or any other scales, on a fern before.

I read somewhere on the internet - RHS website I think - that C. hesperidum occurs on ferns.
