Question Photo of unidentified spider
Hi ,

Can anyone tell me which type of spider this is please (I think it was a spider)?

(sorry about the bad photo - it kept running away!)

Wren spotter, size would be a help in ID. It is a wolf spider by the shape of it, but their are loads of different species.

It's a female wolf spider carrying her egg sac, looks like a Pardosa species, but hard to be sure from the photo.

Hi

It was so quick, I didn't get a close look at it, but I'd say it was just under 2cm long.

Definitely one of the Wolf spiders - Lycosidae. From the carapace markings that I can see and general light colour I'd be tempted to go for a Trochosa species.
