Dragonflies in Scotland
I may be able to go to Glen Affric on 23 or 24 July, if the weather is reasonable. Will this be in the flight season for the Scottish specialities, including Azure Hawker? Are the emergence dates fairly typical this year ? According to the books mid-late July should catch most of the species, if the sun comes out?
Any other site or general info gratefully received.

Glen Affric was sunny on 23 July and I got some good views of several species including White-faced Darter, Downy Emerald and Highland Darter, as well as Black Darter and some commoner species. I had one possible fly by Azure Hawker which didn't stop. photos below - Downy Emerald, Black Darter and Golden-ringed Dragonfly. I didn't find Northern or Brilliant Emerald in the time available. There's always next year......
