| | | Dragonfly id please? Hi all.
Need help to identify this Dragonfly. I'm almost 100% positive its a hawker species but just can't work out which one.
Picture was taken at Alderfen Broad in Norfolk.
Sorry about the picture. I was trying to get a better shot but caught my finger on a reed whilst moving into a better position and sliced it nearly down to the bone! Needless to say I had to head home as I didn't want to get blood on my camera or lens!
Cheers David.
p.s.
Have learn't two things. Firstly the NHS arn't that bad. The did a good job sticking my finger together, and secondly, reeds are damn tough things!!!

| | | Re: Dragonfly id please? And a brown coloured Hawker like that in Norfolk, the only other one I'd be thinking of is Norfolk Hawker, which doesn't have blue spots down the side of the abdomen, but the Brown hawker does David.

Had a look originally on the British Dragonfly Society page but they didn't show a side on view.
And my finger is getting better. Two trips to the doctor and loads of sticky tape and bandages, and was back out with the camera this morning!

Cheers David. | Nice one,I'm very pleased that you have seen Norfolk Hawker too It is one that I've yet to see.Years back I used to twitch alot of birds at Norfolk, but I didn't think of looking for the Hawkers at the time.
