| | | scorpion fly I am pretty sure that this a scorpion fly (Panorpa communis) and i am reasonably proud of this photo and would like to post it to the Gallery. Could someone please verify my assumption so i can go ahead. |

| | | Re: scorpion fly Well it certainly is a Scorpion Fly, Panorpa species. And the genital capsual appears similar to P. communis although I would like a larger and clearer view of this area to definitely rule out P. germanica.
So I would be tempted to add an additional comment to the photo stating that it is probably P. communis but not totally guaranteed.
