| | | Anyone know what this is? Found this in the greenhouse this morning. Hope the pic uploads, sorry about quality, didn't want to get too close!
It's red and yellow with yellow mouth parts, and about 15mm long.
Any ideas? |

If the colouring on the thorax is as it looks it would be one of those two.

A few days old, but I just came across this in Google so thought I'd reply ( thought I already had!) - it's Volucella zonaria.
What part of the UK was this photographed in?
