| | | Reed Climbing Beetle This tiny chap was spotted climbing up a reed and I would love to know what it is.
My wife Margaret takes the photos and I am left struggling to identify what she snaps.
Can anyone please help me? |

| | | Re: Reed Climbing Beetle That, unfortunately, is a rather difficult angle. Do you have any other views?
And what about size?
My first thought was one of the Click Beetles (Elateridae family) although it could be a member of the Leaf Beetles (Chrysomelidae family).
Did the topsides have a rather matt finish or really shiny gloss? Not a sophisticated question; but it may help to narrow down the family.
There are a couple of ideas at the back of my mind but my beetle knowledge is somewhat minimal so I would rather prefer one of our beetle experts to give their considered opinion.
Any other information might be useful. |

| | | Re: Reed Climbing Beetle Your beetle on the reeds is a Reed Beetle, one of the Donacia species. I can't say more than that without a look at the upper side. |
