Unidentified Bugs
A large number of insects getting to know each other better on a hogweed. Anyone know what they are?

Soldier Beetles, Rhagonycha fulva. Sometimes referred to as "Hogweed Bonking Beetles"!

Yes, R. fulva - the Common Red Soldier Beetle, I had my first about a fortnight ago.

Thank you very much, I am going to tell everyone they are called Red Bonking Beetles, and wait to see how long it is before they turn up on the web with that name.
