| | Big, Noisy & Scary Waspy thing I live is South Wales, on the coast.
Today, while sheltering from the rain shower I was startled by a very large W as py thing. It was about 2 inches long, fairly slimline, fast and very loud.
I did not see the colours as I was looking into the sky and moving quite fast myself. (coward)
There is a woodland about half a mile away and most neighbours have trees or bushes.
I have searched online but cannot find anything that resembles the monster.
Can anyone suggest a site that may have pics of Waspy things. (not very technical am I ?!)
I shall keep a camera near the back door and be brave enough to take a photo should 'it' return. |

Seriously it does sound like a Wood Wasp - they are impressive and intimidating to look at - real attitude - more so even than hornets I think. Hope you get a pic!
