| | help what is the beastie??? hi guys, firstly apologies i cant upload a picture, but my house/garden is infested with these tiny narrow black wiggly insects,almost silver fish in shape, they fly but are really small probably about 3mm long, they are everywhere and my 7 year wants to know what they are called, a friend at his school said they were amoleapers??? never heard of them so i figured id ask the experts! hopefully someone out there will know what im trying to describe! thanks flo x |

Look up Tachyporinae ( these can appear black and wriggly) - which is a ( scientific) sub-family of Rove Beetles. Also try Thrips.

| | | Re: help what is the beastie??? thats the lil buggers!! theyve been driving me mad, we've recently moved to a very rural area (20 houses and nothing more for 2 miles) and theres farm land all around, ive seen the odd one before but were in the middle of a swarm!!! thanks for your help xxx |
