| | | Unusual bee behaviour? Does anyone know what sort of bee this is? Every time it landed on a knapweed flower (which, incidentally, were all infested with pollen beetles), it would immediately lift its abdomen into the air at right angles to the rest of its body. When it took off, it returned to the horizontal, until it landed on another flower and then immediately it was back to 90 degrees! Has anybody else ever seen this behaviour? |

| | | Re: Unusual bee behaviour? Yes... this is very female typical leafcutter bee (Megachile sp.) behaviour. In fact, I am pretty sure there have been other threads on this over the last week or so. |
