| | | Beetle plague ... Hello all, can anyone help in identifying these little (about 2mm in length) black beetles that have invaded my garden? Every flower in the garden is covered with these at the moment and if we put any washing out on the line, that gets covered with them as well! And me, as well! They're everywhere! |

| | | Re: Beetle plague ... Yes, Meliethes sp, pollen beetles which do negligible damage on a garden scale - I assume you haven't got hectares of oilseed rape?  Although they do eat pollen, they are also important pollinators. |

Hopefully not appearing too pedantic as i have just joined the forum but the correct generic name is Meligethes. I thought I would add this in case the original poster has been searching for information on the wee beastie.
