A number of ids please

here's a few of the insects i've taken pictures of over the last few weeks. cant make any proper ids from my books though!

there were loads of these about in a ferny field near cheddar gorge


same location, had to look twice at this, obviously looks like bird poo


a shieldbug - but which!!! i find these a bit variable.


not a clue on this tiny beetle

Bibionidae - when was this one seen, exactly?

A moth, but not sure which.

Forest Shieldbug nymph.

Cantharidae, Malthinus genus - needs a closer image to be certain, in my opinion.

With regards to the beetle, how tiny is 'tiny'?

hi jason, regarding the first one it was seen on the 18th of june, there were literally hundreds about, they looked quite menacing when on the wing.

Paul, i can't quite remember, maybe 50mm? thats a hazel leaf its on so that might give some sort of scale.
