Whilst out snapping images of white admirals today, I spotted this dragonfly...
I am trying my hardest to identify it but as is often the case, I am stumped. To me it looks like a chaser but it cannot be the four spotted, it doesn't have the spots! somehow it doesn't look right for a skimmer...a female broad bodied?

That's probably definitely (I often get these things wrong  ) a female Broad-bodied Chaser.

I would say female broad-bodied chaser.
It has extensive dark wing markings at base of wings and also the pale antehumeral stripes (the whiteish stripes on the body heading from the head to the wing). (From my Field Guide to the Dragonflies of Britian and Europe.)
