Ichneumon wasp ID

One of a pair of what I assume are male ichneumon wasps that were fluttering around the same area (which included an old tree stump) yesterday - Looked like they were looking for a female. About 19mm body length.
Any chance of an ID ?

Sorry - the part of the sub-family key I was up to needed a view of the sternites (abdomen's ventral surface) which you can't see here. Still, I was impressed you could see the tegite spiracles.

The same Ichneumons (now 3 males) have been flying around the same area every morning for the last 3 days - there is an old tree stump in the area. Can they smell when a female is likely to emerge ?
